Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Paw Guardian ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares your information when you use the Paw Guardian mobile application ("the App"). By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Who We Are

Paw Guardian is a pet management application that helps owners and colony caretakers track their animals’ health records, manage colonies, and generate QR identification tags.

For privacy enquiries, use the Contact Us form inside the app: Settings → Contact Us.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

  • Email address
  • Full name (optional)
  • Username
  • Password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your plain password)

2.2 Profile Information

  • Profile photo (optional)

2.3 Pet & Colony Data

  • Pet name, species, breed, date of birth, photo
  • Health records: vaccine names, due dates, completion dates, notes
  • Health record attachments: vet document photos, PDF files
  • Colony name, location, address, and member list

2.4 QR Tag Contact Information

If you enable a QR tag for a pet, you may optionally provide a contact phone number. This phone number will be displayed publicly on a webpage accessible to anyone who scans the QR code. Only provide a number you are comfortable sharing publicly.

2.5 Subscription Information

If you subscribe to Premium, we receive from RevenueCat: subscription status, plan name, store (App Store or Google Play), and expiry date. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

  • Providing and operating the App
  • Storing your pet and health records
  • Local health reminder notifications
  • Processing premium subscriptions
  • Displaying the lost-pet QR page
  • Improving app stability
  • Legal obligations

We never sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Public Data — QR Lost Pet Page

When you generate a QR tag, a public page is created showing the pet’s name, species, breed, photo, and your contact phone number. This page is accessible to anyone with the URL — no login required. Do not enable the QR feature if you do not want this information to be public.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA you have the right to: access, rectify, erase, port, object to, or restrict processing of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Use the Contact Us form in the app (Settings → Contact Us). We respond within 30 days.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) at www.dpa.gr.

8. Data Security

  • Passwords hashed — we never store plain-text passwords
  • All traffic over HTTPS/TLS
  • Row-Level Security (RLS) — users access only their own data
  • Files stored in private Supabase Storage buckets
  • Only the QR lost-pet page is intentionally public (see Section 4)

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EEA). If you believe a child has provided data, contact us via the in-app Contact Us form.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
